Micro Skin Needling

Skin needling is the number 1 treatment in the world for skin rejuvenation.
Microscopic skin needling punctures stimulate skin healing for stronger, healthier and more youthful skin.

Needling stimulates Growth Factor release

- needling stimulates stem cell growth
- thickens the skin so that it becomes firm, smooth and plump
- pushes out congestion and pigmentation
- flakes off skin cell build up
- oxygen introduced by the needles kills bacteria causing acne
- releases melanin for even pigment distribution
- stimulates the production of cells that you are lacking in the skin
- increase new fibroblasts which produce more collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid
- firming, tightening and smoothing for scar revision
- creating healthy capillary networks

UV damage KILLS fresh collagen, wearing SPF protects collagen to maturity.

EXCEED medical micro needling device - not all professional devices are equal!

Registered and approved by every medical board giving it the highest medical grade possible. TGA, FDA and Medsafe. This medical clearance means it can perform precise needle depth punctures every single time without tearing the skin making it safer than other devices. What makes it far more superior than other devices is that it has floating needle tips to glide over uneven skin and facial structures.
Vertical oscillating technology with movement range of 100 to 150 times per second x 6 - 33/32 gauge needles. This means that the EXCEED can make up to 900 punctures per second into the skin which makes it more effective than any other professional or at home devices on the market. Micro means thin needles which cause less pain and trauma to the skin. Cord operated means it has constant supply to reliable power - this ensures it is powerful enough to insert and retract each needle without dragging and tearing the skin.

Why prepare for skin needling?

- needling is guaranteed to produce new cells within the skin
- damaged cells produce more damaged cells.
- healthy cells produce more healthy cells.

The choice of prepping for skin needling is up to the client entirely. Preparation will allow you to get the most optimal results for your investment.

How to prepare for skin needling

1. SPF 4 weeks before and continued post treatment daily to prevent new cell damage
2. Vitamin A use for 4 weeks before (daily without irritation) and continued post inflammatory stage post treatment daily to repair current cell damage
3. 2 Litres of water per day for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks post treatment for hydrated cells
4. Essential Fatty Acid Supplements (EFA) 4 weeks before and continued post treatment for healthy cell membranes which keeps the hydration from escaping the cells

What to expect post skin needling

24 hrs - erythema/redness, petechiae/pin-point bleeding under the skin, heat (created by the body not introduced by the device) and minor swelling/plumpness

1-2 days - sensitive, dry, tight with minor flaking

3-4 days - reduced sensitivity with minor flaking

4-5 days - fully recovered, you can then resume the use of active ingredients

Oleogel Plus balm will be supplied to you to use during the healing phase.

Inflammation is a vital phase post skin needling

- allow inflammation for 2 days post treatment
- erythema/redness means the skin is being signaled to regenerate
- do not apply anything colder than room temperature
- LED Blue light is the only acceptable post needling light

What to avoid post skin needling

- shaving, waxing and excessive sweating for 48 hrs
- sauna, hot baths and swimming in salt or chlorine
- acids and vitamin A for 5 days
- spray/rub on tan 7 days either side of needling
- solarium/UV from the sun
- LED light therapy for 3 days
- infrared light exposure
- injectables and cosmetic tattooing for 2 weeks pre and post treatment

Contraindications to skin needling

- papopustular rosacea - congestion must be cleared first
- active herpes simplex/cold sore - a definite no, as it can spread
- scleroderma - auto immune condition causing hardening of the skin
- open/weeping lesions in the treatment area
- skin cancer in the treatment area
- keloid scarring anywhere on the body - risk of further scarring
- acne vulgaris grade 3 & 4/cystic - can spread within the deeper tissue layers
- warts - viral infection
- bacterial/fungal skin infection - will spread and worsen
- roaccutane for 6-12 months post ceasing medication due to sensitivity
- unmanaged diabetes - inhibits healing
- haemophilia - reduced blood clotting abilitites
- sunburn
- solar keratosis/scaly sun damaged skin - must be cleared as benign by Dr first
- moles
- over cosmetic tattoo - removes pigment unevenly

Why anesthetic should not be used during skin needling

VASOCONTRICTION - removes blood from the surface of the skin which means there is no way of knowing what layer of the skin is being worked on
LEGAL RESTRICTIONS - only medical professionals are legally allowed to apply anesthetic to a client
LIMITATIONS - allergic reactions, contraindications such as pregnancy, increases treatment expense and takes longer due to the time it takes to activate

Skin needling for different skin concerns

PIGMENTATION: Typical treatment plan is 5 sessions with a top up quarterly

- no heat which lowers post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- targets the specific cell layers that promote melanocyte and stem cell growth
- increases the skins natural exfoliating process pushing pigment to the surface
- safest option and most effective compared to other methods
- treats the root cause - the damaged cells - by correcting pigment from the inside out!
- releases melanin for even pigment distribution
- treating in winter is best for hyperpigmentation (darker pigment)
- treating in summer is best for hypopigmentation (white spots)

AGE MANAGEMENT: Typical treatment plan is 5 sessions with a top up quarterly

- microscopic needle punctures activate the skins healing process and the production of healthy collagen
- needling allows your skin to create NEW fibroblasts which can increase collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production by up to 400%
- needling stimulates stem cell growth
- thickens the skin so that it becomes firm, smooth and plump

ROSACEA: Typical treatment plan is 3 sessions with a top up every 6 months

- breaks down capillary networks and regulates the regrowth of new healthy structures
- stable capillary networks are created during the healing phase post treatment

MILIA: Typical treatment plan is 3 sessions with a top up quarterly

- no risk of scarring unlike extractions
- creates an exit for the milia

SCARRING: Generally takes 8 or more sessions

- needling breaks down thick tissue, allows your skin to recreate quality collagen, regenerate nerves and capillaries

ACNE grades 1 & 2: Typical treatment plan is 3 sessions with a top up quarterly

- needling forces the skin to push congestion towards the surface
- speeds up cell turnover which allows for the skin to heal faster
- introduce oxygen into the skin which kills bacteria and fights infection
- blood flow from needling introduces fresh oxygen and the lymphatic flow clears waste
- staphylococcus bacteria are reduced (skin can look worse for a few days post treatment but then clears)
